Choose Your Music Lessons:
Select from the classes below. There are music programmes to suit all ages and abilities.
Individual piano lessons of 30, 45 or 60 minutes are available weekly or fortnightly for adults and children. Please contact me to book lessons or use the pop-up Scheduler.
Individual and group recorder lessons can lead to recognised qualifications for adults and children. Lessons can include work on the Sopranino, Descant, Treble, Tenor, Basset, and Great Bass.
Understanding how to improvise, compose, read music, or play in a group is easier with a good grasp of the theory of music. All instrumental students are encouraged to expand their musical knowledge with theory studies.
Students can be entered for ABRSM or Trinity College syllabus practical, theory or diploma exams. I also support GCSE and A Level studies in Music.
What I Provide:
I have been teaching for over twenty-five years. In that time I have continued to train as an educator to ensure my knowledge, approach, and pedagogy are up-to-date and as effective as they can be. I hold current Safeguarding and Child Protection certification, DBS, and the CME from Trinity College.
MUSIC LESSONS FOR ADULTS
As an experienced teacher working with adults from many backgrounds, I can help you fill in the gaps in your musical knowledge or skillset. I teach beginners to diploma level adults on the recorder and piano.
MUSIC CLASSES FOR CHILDREN
I teach group lessons for ages 0-4, and private lessons for school-age children. Please ask about group lesson availability for your child. All children progress at different rates and are supported in a friendly environment to explore their musicality.
I provide instrumental lessons on the recorder and piano. Group lessons introduce percussive instruments. I also provide lessons for the new ABRSM Singing for Musical Theatre syllabus. I support exam entry, but this is not essential for students to progress well.
GROUP MUSIC CLASSES
I teach group music lessons for ages 3 months to adult. New parents can learn how to integrate music into their child’s natural development. For older children, instrumental, singing or orchestral groups and workshops are available. I also support adult groups and workshops.
